2009 Monsoon Cup 3rd Place, Tour Standing 4th Place  

  After the blundering loss in semi final against Adam Minoprio (NZL), YANMAR Racing challenged Sébastien Col (FRA) intrepidly in petit final. Being able to keep the advantageous left course in the tricky condition in the deciding 3rd match, YANMAR Racing headed for the finish line far ahead of Sébastien Col, making the 3rd place in Monsoon Cup.

“Massive pressure was on us as we were the World Champion last year.  Our team got better and precise through the races.  It was a shame we missed to stand on the center of the podium, but we are happy we made it to the 3rd place in this final tour of 2009.  Fighting in the WMRT events as YANMAR Racing this year filled up our blank after a long absence for full tour round.  The new World Champion is a fresh young guy.  We will make a target looking back on our activities this year and train crosshairs on that target.  We have more work to do as a team.”
