The Kobe Center
-A new base for Yanmar’s global parts supply

　Yanmar Logistics Service Co., Ltd (headquartered in Osaka city and having Mr. K. Ooba as company representative) is planning to establish a new parts center in April 2008, as part of a larger strategy that aims at strengthening the exports of service parts throughout the entire Yanmar group.

　Yanmar Logistics Service Co., Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of Yanmar Co., Ltd. Mainly it conducts product and parts storage operations in six logistics centers in? Japan so as to ensure a smooth logistics system management throughout the entire Yanmar group. One of these branches is the Osaka Parts Center, which deals in storing service parts to be supplied overseas.

　With the recent increase in product exports, parts inventory volumes have also increased, making it necessary to enlarge the inventory space of the Osaka Parts Center. In addition, Yanmar is planning to increase production volume in order to achieve one of its fundamental commitments towards its centenary in 2012, which is 50% overseas-derived sales. In this context it is essential to ensure stable overseas supplies of service parts.
　Also, since the area around the Osaka Parts Center has become a residential district, it was time to think about relocating for traffic safety reasons.

　Kobe Center will be established offshore from Kobe City. It will ensure the improvement and expansion of the current Osaka Parts Center functions and will become the base of exports to Yanmar group overseas locations.
　Kobe Center will have a 1.5 times larger storage capacity compared to the Osaka Parts Center and will also conduct parts assembly and processing operations.
