New Launch in the True Zero Tail Swing-excavator Series
-Universal ViO17

Yanmar Construction Equipment Co., Ltd (headquartered in Chikugo city, Fukuoka prefecture/ President: Fumihiro Kobayashi), has launched the Universal ViO17, an improved version of the Global ViO15, to expand its series of True Zero Tail Swing excavators.
The development of the Universal ViO17 focused on providing new function features and fittings to ensure improved maneuverability, safety and reliability.
Main features:

（1）　Improved maneuverability
■	The use of a 3 pump-hydraulic system facilitates the operation of the boom arm while also turning, as well as other simultaneous operations without causing handling difficulties for the operator. A wrist control lever, very popular with large sized construction equipment, was modified so as to fit the requirements of small-sized hydraulic excavators.
■	The maximum digging depth was extended 100mm and the minimum dump height was adjusted to match 2 ton-truck loading height.

（2）　 Improved safety
■	A 2-pillar head guard canopy that meets the latest Occupational Health and Safety regulations was added. A 4-pillar canopy built in accordance with the latest ROPS (i.e. rollover protective structure) and FOPS (i.e. falling object protective structure) regulations is also provided optionally.
■	Locking the safety lever also results in the locking of the excavator, turning and running functions. In addition, when the lever is locked, the engine cannot be operated, which prevents operational errors.

（3）　Improved reliability
■	All cylinders were provided with blade spring-type guards. The frame corners are made of highly resistant cast iron to ameliorate impact during turning and running.
■	The model is provided with a vertical, easy-access bonnet and unified side cover design to facilitate maintenance.
