This is to announce that Yanmar's engine manufacturing and distributing
subsidiary in Italy, Yanmar Cagiva S.P.A., changed the company name to Yanmar
Italy S.P.A. in the end of last year.
It was also decided that the small air-cooled diesel engines, (L series),
which have been produced by both the subsidiary in Italy and the Yanmar’s plant
in Japan, will be transferred to Yanmar Italy S.P.A in this spring for their
whole production. Details as follows;
- Change of Company Name
- New Company Name: Yanmar Italy S.P.A.
(Old Company Name: Yanmar Cagiva S.P.A.)
- Date of Change: December 21, 2003
- Production Transfer of the L Series Engines
The L series engines have been produced in both Italy and Japan.
However, Yanmar will close its production activities of the Third Production
Center of the Engine Division, (Nagahama Plant) in March 2004. The production
of the L series, thereafter, will be conducted by Yanmar Italy S.P.A. for the
whole quantity, (excluding partial quantities for domestic use), for distribution
worldwide from Italy.
[Reference] Yanmar Cagiva S.P.A: Established jointly with Cagiva in Italy in February
1996 for the production and distribution of small air-cooled diesel engines.
Yanmar obtained Cagiva’s share in December 1999 and Yanmar Cagive S.P.A. became
a 100% subsidiary of Yanmar.
