YANMAR Co., Ltd
The North American subsidiaries of Yanmar Co., Ltd., namely
Yanmar Diesel America Corp. (YDAC) and Yanmar Manufacturing America Corp. (YMA),
have been under the control of Yanmar (U.S.A.), a U.S. holding company. YDAC,
located near Chicago, IL, primarily distributed diesel engines and their parts
for construction, industrial and marine applications. YMA, located near Atlanta,
GA, manufactures marine diesel engines.
In 2002, Yanmar established Yanmar Marine International V.B.
in the Netherlands to distribute pleasure boat engines worldwide.
In an effort to better serve customer needs and expand its business
in the Americas, Yanmar reorganized its North American operations, formed two
new companies and strengthened its local management functions.
- Business Reorganization
- The marine diesel engine business of YDAC has been
spun off to establish an independent marine engine company, Yanmar
Marine U.S.A. Corp. (YMU). YMU shares state of the art facilities
with YMA in Adairsville, GA. As a result of this spin-off and relocation
of the U.S. marine business, YMU is better situated to respond to
the distribution and service needs of our marine diesel engine customers
located throughout North, Central and South America.
- Yanmar (U.S.A.) and YDAC were combined to form a new
company, Yanmar America Corporation (YAC). The formation of YAC
will provide for efficient business operations by acting as North
American regional headquarters for administration. In addition,
YAC will continue with its distribution, service and parts operations
for industrial diesel engines and construction equipment.
